Pre-recorded questions

Tick the questions you want to include — each plays in your own recorded voice instead of the computer voice. To add more, edit QUESTION_LIBRARY in this page and drop the matching audio file into audio/slate/.

Questions

Reorder, edit, or add your own below — 🔊 marks a question using a pre-recorded clip; anything else is read by the computer voice. The seconds field is just a safety cap now: recording moves to the next question as soon as you've answered and gone quiet, not when the clock runs out.

We tape in landscape. Turn auto-rotate on before you start, or your screen will not turn when you get there — iPhone: the padlock-with-an-arrow in Control Centre. Android: Auto-rotate.

Press record — the screen goes black and counts 3, 2, 1, then the picture fades up over 2 seconds. Answer each question as it's asked — it moves on to the next as soon as you've answered and gone quiet.

Turn your phone sideways to record — we always tape in landscape.
Already sideways and still seeing this? Your rotation lock is on, so the screen itself never turns.
iPhone: swipe down from the top-right corner and tap the padlock-with-an-arrow so it goes dark.
Android: swipe down from the top and turn on Auto-rotate.
